BB, no - I don't have your original post with your AMAT predictions.
I think I should change your YE99 guess from 40 to 80 because no
others took a future split into account. Is that OK with you?

>maybe I'm just weird! <VBG> <

I like the analogies! One of my own: a stock going nowhere
is like a tree in winter. No growth can be discerned, but
its roots are strengthening in preparation for a glorious
burst of new leaves and blooms come spring. Just make sure
you harvest the fruit before it drops on its own and rots
on the ground. :)

Ah, so you're really talking $80 -- that's a bit more comforting and, god forbid, places you a lot closer to the Kerecz camp than you usually care to admit.

Hey, and don't get me wrong, I dig the analogies, so keep'em coming. My personal favorite is your powder keg motif. I await the day when I can here that familiar "bang, bang ,bang" again as you begin pulling the trigger on what you take to be AMAT's resumed upward flight. Let the currently undernourished AMAT cower in the bushes undisturbed for a few more quarters. No doubt that given time it'll fatten up again, and just beg to be flushed.

BB,

Are you serious about this?

"When I made my $40 high projection for year end '99 it was with
the caveat that the stock would split prior to year end.
The implications of that are the stock would achieve $80+ as
a high for the year, but by year end, after the split and the
typical round of profit taking the $ price would be $40 (split
adjusted).<VBG>"

It is the VBG at the end that is throwing me off. I mean,VBG, if I were to suggest,VBG, that AMAT would see the 20's again, which I do believe,VBG,but then rebound late this year to the low 50's, VBG, before going to the 80+ range in 1999, VBG, what would you think, VBG?

Probably that I smile too much.

You mean during this next runup you are going to stay with us to 80+? <VVBG> Didn't you get out in the $70 presplit, 35+ postsplit last time? :)
