My projection FWIW is a long fairly volatile period of basically dead
money. The economy is slowing se for example this from J. Cordes on
Tech Stock Options Thread:

Big News.. Mortgage payments, especially on adjustables, have fallen
behind 4.4% (highest in two years) as of last three months of 97. Would one
have thought that probable given the highest stock market, lowest interest
rates, highest employment?

I personally am dealing mostly with options for DELL. I have written
both calls and a few puts out of the money to capture what I perceived
to be exhorbitant time premiums. The Calls will almost certainly expire worthless unless DELL has a 20 percent runup. The few puts that I have scare me. I may have to initiate an insurance plan if the stock
continues to move down. So hey buy this stock it's a gift horse,
manna from heaven (just kidding).

Denise,

I hope you didn't make a decision to short on account of this thread.
The objective here is to present another viewpoint that may not be
fully expressed elsewhere. I certainly am not giving investment
advice, merely trying to make for more informed, well versed investors. Also, My option plays are NOT for someone who doesn't have
a lot of years of experience in trading in options. I have lost
mucho money in options over the years and learned to implement a
variety of risk control strategies in my option trading. I still may
not be very good at it, but at least I limit my losses.
