Zeev:

<<The life span of these games are not too long.>>

I completely agree with you here. I think THQI has done a good job jumping on the hot genres while they're still hot. That's why I think Rugrats will do well. I think there is a better chance that the value of the WCW license will be shot by mid '99 then it being in a position of increasing value for a game publisher.

That said, I also think it is much more of a gamble for ERTS to take the license in mid '99 than for THQI to get rid of it at that time. It is THQI that is going to reap the lion's share of profits from the WCW license, not ERTS.

I just wish THQI didn't announce the loss of the license so soon. From the stock's trading today it is abundently clear that there was tremendous psychological damage done due to the loss of the license. I don't see why the loss of this license in mid '99 should have an impact on the stock price at this time. Too bad for us that it really does...

Care to speculate on short term price action?

The FOOLS debate was enjoyable...

Interesting to hear both sides..

It appears that investors have sold too soon. Who cares about WCW in the middle of 1999. I agree with the FOOL BULL when he says how many westling games do we need and how many releases? It get's old.. sure it may be profitable but like Rocky IV it loses it's appeal.

I agree that THQI didn't want to dish out the big bucks to sell the same title for XX more years etc.. They are moving on to other items..
