So the short answer(pardon the pun) is: assuming the spread is 1/16 - go on the offer.Assuming the spread is larger than 1/16 - go 1/16 below the offer.Correct?

If you see an uptick can you simply sell short at the bid? or is this too risky in the chance that it could be a downtick by the time you hit it, in which case your gonna take some grief from your order entry firm?
