So my offhand memory isn't too bad on the system specs. and I'm not
sure the system I heard about included 8GB harddrive or DVD. In fact
I'm pretty sure it was CDROM not DVD and 2GB HD. How do you think people can make any money on this?

Dave

By the way, I think it is safe to say that the price war has BEGUN.

Brian,

I live in the Bay area and this morning's COMPUSA ad still shows the machine configuration that you mentioned at $1999 without the monitor.
Can you let us know which area is this advertisement running?
Thanks.

Dave,
This is what I've seen advertised:
CPQ 300MHz PII, 64MB, 8 GB, DVD, 17" monitor, $1650! That's pretty-high
end. I almost bought one yesterday - then I remembered: the price war is about to
begin.
