If you go to CPQ homepage to check their recent price cut due to the PC WAR. You will find out they cut a lot on low-end PC and notebooks, but leave the higher-end intact or little change. Then go to DELL homepage or any ads they put on the magazines, DELL only sell higher-end PC.

Dear MW,

This is in the New York Metro area. It is not at CompUSA, but at other deep-discount stores. I checked out the PC - the monitor was an el-cheapo OEM 17" SVGA (bad resolution). With an upgrade to a .28 dot pitch 17" SVGA monitor, the price was $1899.
