To my THQ friends; Carnage is never fun, especially when you get rocked real bad over night. ..I figured a $2-$3 haircut on the WCW news. (I must be living in the 60's.) Haircuts are going for $7-$8 these days (g)

I believe the market overreacted. I spoke with Deborah at THQ today..they feel very good about 1998 . It appears that the price for renewing WCW was more than THQ wanted to pay. She could not comment on the reason. THQ certainly wanted WCW.... We all wanted it. I am sure THQ would have liked Tiger Woods Golf as well....but 10million for it and this board would have screamed bloody murder. We do not know the details of the negotiations.
However, we do have one constant. The constant is the OUTSTANDING management team at THQ (Haller, Locke, Lake Gioia,Ryno, Walsh and Gysi) lead by Farrell. This team has taken practically dead company and turned it into an industry PLAYER!!!

THQ has made it's bread and butter by NOT overspending on titles and betting too much on one title. Think of it like a sports team choosing not to pay their star player 10million so they let the guy go and fill his shoes with 3 cheaper guys and win the championship anyway. The biggest spenders don't always win the title. Thq WILL recover IN MY OPINION.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? I think not!!!! Are you with me? Yes?? Than, come on THQ!!! Let's GO!!!!!!!! Back to 30's within a few months!!!!

JAKK makes WWF Action Figures. I bought that company..when the deal began, and made a lot of money. To me..it is too undiscovered. But I heard that WCW is in talks with an Action Figure company..I wasn't told which one. But when a deal is announced, that's where I am headed.

The reason THQ didn't want to resign with WCW, is to keep costs low. IMO, in 99..they will make more money than ERTS. It seems that THQ, will still make wrestling games, so...I am waiting for them to sign a contract with the ECW. I doubt they will have a game with completely fake wrestlers. They will probably do better with the Rugrats, than WCW.
