You are absolutely correct. With a high variance
in the estimated value we simply require a price
several standard deviations below this estimated
value in order to buy. I guess its just a matter
of determining a probability distribution of the
share value, and determining the price for which
the probability that the share value exceeds the
price is sufficiently high.

Could you explain to me:

What is an "inventory turn"?

The ideal outcome for this mess is for all the ACTM inventory to have been stolen and for the insurance to cover the entire market value of the loss. Then management can focus on other ways to screw up this company.
