This is another endorsement of network computing. Just what the industry needs to retain a position of strength against Microsoft's dominance in fat client architectures. If nothing else, network computing is an alternative approach that Microsoft will not coopt, since one of its main tenets is the ability to do without Microsoft client software.

As more big players climb on the nc bandwagon, network computing will gain momentum, and this will help all major DB vendors, whose products have a definitive advantage in supporting the heavy demands of network computing relative to Microsoft's. I think Informix will especially benefit due to its technology leadership.
