John: I am not that familiar with LSI and SEEQ but from looking at their product line, I would guess you would have more of a SEEQ overlap with LSI than with ADPT, which is listed as one of SEEQ's customers. Adaptec's purchase of Symbios should boost gross revenue by at least 50%, but we have no data to estimate Symbios' profits and thus can only guess at the initial impact of the merger on Adaptec's bottom line. I believe Adaptec would not buy a loser, however, and with its stock price battered down, now might be a good time to buy for your 12-16 month horizon. I would. But I am long on ADPT.
