Maurice - On early adoption graphs -- where is the data for analog, TDMA, GSM and CDMA market share, at similar points in time? If I get a bunch of these I should be able to tell you when CDMA will cross over GSM share. I agree, this is more interesting than the Microsoft story which we shall leave for rainy days in the football off season.
But I can't resist a final comment:

Whether Justice should get involved with potential monopolies is not related to high prices nor high market share necessarily. Rather it depends on the conduct and practices of the potential monopolists. Practices designed to forestall competition which are not driven by the underlying economics or efficiency are considered to be predatory practices. Forcing Dell and Compaq to only sell Windows95 with Internet Explorer looks like it has the makings of a predatory practice. It walks and talks like a duck. Maybe it is a duck. Justice found a graceful way of stepping in and changing the terms of this practice. Probably though one will only be able to buy versions of Windows 95 without Internet Explorer in Upper Slovenia.

Maurice, Someone else is now interested in Interdigitals vaporware for WLL. This is fun being on both sides of the coin.

No Microsoft is not selling Win 95 for $100, only a upgrade is sold at that price. You also can't install that on your next machine either. It's a scam.

As to your absurd notion that government is totally useless, well where was the bright and innovative Microsoft and the Internet? Let see the Internet who original design was to deliver data and communications even in a nuclear war. Clinton/Gire have done more to promote the INternet than Gates, who 5 years ago didn't have a care or bother about it. They had to get a license from Spyglass to enter the market. So Microsoft license it from Spyglass and gave it away!! No royalties for poor old Spyglass........

Intel has competition and the price of processors are falling fast. Non-OPEC countries open up exploration and force OPEC's hand. Just maybe Apple will yet provide open competition with it's next OS, when it will work across all platforms and with any software. Then we will see real cheap prices for computing.
