Wasn't Schmidt DEFENDING Tolonen about a year ago, when he was rumored to be canned, having cleaned out his office? "The job is his as long as he wants it" or something to that effect I believe. I don't see how you can deduce from a new CFO being appointed at Raney's old company that Schmidt was already in the process of recruiting him. It looks to me like this happened suddenly, Schmidt scoured the inactive CFO roster and called Raney up from retirement.

ERP stands for "Enterprise Resource Planning" it is a generic term that represents products like SAP, PeopleSoft/Oracle Financials and HR,BAAN, etc. Typically transaction processing systems for the enterprise. Now, how this helps Novell is not clear<g>!
