Here's a blurp from the ORCL thread that validates SGI's downscaling into the realms of NT:

Database server growth in North America alone showed a much
healthier 34% growth, even if a sizeable share of that growth
came from products running on Microsoft Corp.'s (MSFT)
Windows NT operating system instead of Oracle's traditional
platform, Unix.

Growth of Windows NT-based products was 130% year over
year, analysts said.

Applications sales also expanded strongly, logging 30%
worldwide growth compared with 7% in the second quarter.

-30-

Your reflections in regard to the demise of Detroit's gas-guzzling retro-stylish "big iron" may perversely parallel the move to NT.

Larry - Mathon

You guys lay off of that little Toyota. I have a pickup, 4x4, extended cab, with a winch (that's not wench Mathon) on the front. I can go places in the woods that guys with domestic pickups can only dream about. The extended cab also makes it great for going to town for groceries, etc. Good gas mileage. It is the only foreign made vehicle that I have ever owned and I really like it. Of course I haven't tried to use it for picking up girls as the wife would take my keys away. ":0)
I have finally come upon the perfect solution for that mess in Washington. Find Mrs. Bobbit, give her back her kitchen knife, and get her a blind date with Bill. It wouldn't be long before he could get back to tending to the business that he says he was hired to do.
Gosh I am a mean so and so, aren't I? ":0)

Happy Hunting
