Yiwu;

<<I DON"T EVEN CARE >>
<< To tell you the truth, I haven't even read his post.

Then what in the world are you going on about? It is clear that you countenance no disagreement without getting so angry that you cannot write logically. I might do (and feel) the same were I forced to write my comments in Mandarin. It must be frustrating for you but English is what you use to write the things I disagree with and it would be better to try to debate me then to simply get angry. I don't disagree with you because I dislike you. I don't even know you. I disagree with you because many times you write things that are materially wrong and flavor them with an anti-western bias. (I find that fascinating from a many year resident of the U.S. who earned your degree there, and who so eagerly pursues wealth in the U.S. stock market.)

Yiwu, I want you to know that I have enormous respect for anyone who migrates to a foreign country, works hard, earns a Phd., and accomplishes what you have done, all in a second language. Your grasp of our free market system is impressive also. Its one of the features of our democracy, just like free speech, and open debate. But I somehow get the impression that you would have me doing the "airplane" posture on a stage in Tiananmen before you ever really openly argued the issues. Know what the airplane posture is? Its what the red guard made their victims do for hours on end and caused Mao to joke to an associate that he wondered if it was "good exercise". This vignette is written about in the associate's memoirs. He was a high CCP member.

But when I call you to task over statements that you make you simply become irrational. It has been clear to me that you display an anti-western bias. It has been further clear to me that you operate within that system, earning degrees, making investments, and enjoying some of its fruits. So why will you not debate me honestly on real issues instead of getting irrationally angry? I would be happy to engage you on any issue you have with the west.

As to my limited knowledge of China I readily confess it. But I remind you again. I am married to an off shore Chinese, we live in Kuala Lumpur, and we live in a Chinese neighborhood (not an expat apartment tower). I have traveled over the last 15 years to various parts of China as a part of my business. I have an extremely curious mind about Chinese culture and have lovingly husbanded a small collection of Chinese art which I enjoy immensely. I have personal friends who were part of Mao's red guard cadre. My wife's family still holds property in Pan Yu. We have been there. We also have relatives in Shanghai. I have been there. Yiwu, I do not make these things up. And If I write something that is wrong then tell me where and how it is wrong. That is, if you read this post and care to.

Remember how our initial disagreement started? Its when you stated flatly in the Asian Forum that the CIA had been guilty of genocide (purely out of context in the thread's subject at the time). You still have not responded to my challenge to back up your statement. Are you totally unfamiliar with the concept of open and honest debate?

Yiwu, you simply lack any credibility in my opinion.
