Product idea. With all of the discussion about settops, network PCs, Apple's secret box that will have a CD-ROM or DVD, etc. etc., wouldn't a settop with a built-in MPEG-1 CD-RW recorder be a hit? Give it VCR-type controls ala Dazzle. CUBE's MPEG-1 codec would do the trick. Or add ZiVA (and a different drive) to give it DVD playback capabilities. I know that DVD-RAM will be here soon, and so will CUBE's DVx consumer MPEG-2 codec. But this would be a product that would have a lot of appeal now. How long would it take to fast-forward through commercials on a disc?....
