Mike McCurry disagrees with Dowd: McCurry: Clinton is a ''human being''
WASHINGTON, March 13 (UPI) _ A White House spokesman says (Friday) President Clinton is ''a human being and has human reactions'' when asked how Clinton felt about the possible public release of his deposition in the Paula Jones sexual harassment lawsuit. ''I'm not going to detail further,'' press secretary Mike McCurry told reporters. McCurry says he expects Clinton to explain his relationship with Monica Lewinsky at some point.

Duncan, I think almost everyone will be watching. While the public SAYS it is bored and disgusted by this messy business, the press points out that its readership/viewership is way up since the scandal broke. I think we have a prurient interest, and are disappointed in ourselves for having this human reaction to such a spectacle.

Sort of like watching a really serious automobile accident because you cannot help yourself, even though you are repulsed. I do think most of us can feel morally superior because at least we have no desire to have intercourse with several-hundred-year-old mummified people.
