>>I did buy a small amount of Apple leaps today: Jan 2000 20's

Linda ... how high do you think AAPL will go by then? Going from April to Jan2000 seems like a change of perspective on your part.

The beta is getting so high from all this swinging around that the time premium is really large (although smaller when you buy this far in the money).

All,

news.com

Intel, AMD, Cyrix, and IDTI would all love to get into the $300 to $500 set top appliance market, but suffer from one thing that Apple does not. Apple controls both the hardware and the OS for their platform. As prices for computing devices drop, the $50 that Microsoft charges for its OS becomes a significant percentage of the total system cost. Hardware integration can only get you so far with out control of the software. This could be an ace in the hole for Apple when hundreds of millions of information appliances are cranked out each year.

Pravin.

I have an account at Suretrade, but haven't used it so far, as human beings seem totally non-existant there, either on-line, or on the phone.

Plus my last statement showed a $10,000 credit, which was withdrawn 24 hours later! It appeared to be someone else's deposit erroneously applied to my account. Not the greatest confidence builder! I wouldn't touch it.

Still wasting money with a broker. . .
