Siemens has a PEM in a larger vehicle than a bus or a Daimler; see

Any info on life of components. I've read on another site that membrane assembly life is a little over 2000 hours. This is good fit with transportation sector (similar to engine overhauls) but poor fit with power generation for home or industry. Feedback/comments on component life welcome.

Thanks,

Gary

P.S. this thread is very useful source of information. Would like to see the focus continue to be the market, the technology, the company and competitors rather than day to day stock price fluctuations but i recognize the latter is inevitable.

RE: "" If United Technologies had a viable, advanced fuel cell, why did Ford, which had been working with them for years, decide to buy in to Ballard?""

Maybe because you can't "buy into" UTX like you can BLDPF based on market cap? Or maybe UTX is not interested in GM's assistance in developing their product? I don't think that you can compare UTX and Ballard's cells based on Ford's choice of investment. That is based on premise that Ford would've bought into UTX if they had a more advanced fuel cell. You can't prove that assumption. I don't understand your rhetoric.
