Jason...You've hit the nail on the head...You've presented Facts compared to "I don't see how..."

Maybe you haven't learned the fact that CPQ is going to target $800 MMX-based Pentium machines to corporate customers, especially in the re-emerging European market. Don't you think 200mhz is more than enough for most business practices? Those are really powerful machines and will be the main market driving force in foreseeable future. Writing a proposal in Word and setting up a payroll spreadsheet in Excel don't even require a 200mhz MMX machine...

Last time I checked, HP is ready to roll out $600 machine for entry level PC w/ 166mhz Pentium. Do you think purchasing managers will never consider using those PC for business. As I said before, excessive speed becomes irrelevant since nobody needs it at all. At the end, only price matters. Intel already acknowledged this; Dell will need to slash price aggressively or start making sub-$800 machines soon. Anyway, if you don't think Dell will be affected when CPQ tries to unload inventory, don't worry and buy more Dell stock. I don't want to convince anyone here.

Okay, my last word. If a company wants to provide every employee with a corporate car, what kind of car the company will provide? Porsche? BMW? Mercedes? Or Ford Escorts? Taurus? Neons?

Interesting that only 10% of DELL's sales are to
second-time buyers. Where did you get that information?
