OK. I don't want to turn it into one of these "Who is the best
online brokerage?" threads, but having suffered with EGRP for
years (while they were still in a dinky office on California vs.
the current corporate sprawl on Geng) and having tried a couple
of other brokerages along the way only to come grumbling back
to EGRP, I want to know WHO is that much better that they can
overcome EGRP's marketing edge (that's for newcomers) and there
range of online services and, more importantly, instruments (for
people like me)?! No Schwabs and Fidelities, please...

I am no great fan of EGRP's service and I've got my stories to tell,
but this is a question of lesser evil and they are clearly one
of the least in the online business - there are much better ones,
which, unfortunately, don't have full-service online business. And
their (claimed) 95% retention level is the proof as far as valuing
EGRP as an investment. Personally, I would still like to know who is
that much better to warrant a move. Suggestion?
