Thanks for the history, Don. Your information goes back much further than when I started following Bob Brinker. Amazing picks - Vodofone and Msft! What is really interesting, and Rillinois and others often overlook, is what makes great picks is figuring that out while others think the stocks suck. Look at this link for Vodofone in 1989 quote.yahoo.com Someone could have bought it in 1989 and taken 4 yrs to break even if they got in on the peak, but the stock has been stellar since mid 1993. Sometimes it takes several years for a really great stock pick to pay off. I figure I'd rather be a bit early than miss the boat completely.

I remember buying Msft and Intel in 1993 and they didn't do anything for about a yr. That is about when my father told me to listen to Moneytalk since Brinker liked Msft and had liked it for some time. I took a BIG risk buying a house in Los Altos and running two mortgages and a line of credit so I wouldn't have to sell my msft, Hwp, Intel and a few other high techs while getting into a great neighborhood at a steal. I can thank Brinker for being one of the few bulls in 1994 that helped me not chicken-out. My "profits" on the realestate are nearly as high as on Msft percentage wise and eclipse it on total dollars as well as emotional satisfaction. To hear people call Brinker a liar really pisses me off as Brinker seems to have helped so many of us, often in indirect ways.

I sure hope we don't have to wait 4 years for Utek to pay off, but it will be entertaining none the less....There are SO MANY shorts on it that the darn stock doesn't seem to want to drop much now no matter how bad the news. Too bad, as I'd like to get some more at an even better price. Watch out when the news starts looking good!

regards
Kirk out

donl: RE:< Objective Question about the Willey 60 Minutes Interview>
After viewing the Willey interview on 60 minutes tonight, and the president's response to it, I continue to NOTICE THE PATTERN in the PRESIDENT's CHOSEN LANGUAGE to deny allegations related to the scandal. When making denials, I've always noticed the president chooses pronouns. For example, "I did not have an improper relationship with HER (rather than naming the person he is referring to). He sometimes uses the person's name in the previous sentence, but there's no assurance in the denial sentence that the chose pronoun relates to the person named in the previous sentence.

I do not recall the media ever reporting this consistency and I think it (this consistency in the choice of pronouns) is VERY IMPORTANT. Have you noticed the same thing ? If so, do you have any thoughts as to WHY the president seems to consistently choose pronouns when making his denials, rather than specifically naming the person he is referring to when making his denials ? :-)
