Mr. sh,

You are most correct in pointing out the achievements of Mr. Brasington,
contributing here since he joined the thread December 30, 1996. One of
the first things he did was join our spontaneous ad hoc committee
which had been ongoing for a while attempting to make the thread a nicer
place to visit. Perhaps to this day Mr. Cohen does not realize the depth
of our concerted campaign to alter his abrasive writing style so he could
at least get along with the rest of us. Over time our dialog may just have
contributed to his decision to take Naxos much more seriously. Perhaps you
have seen a little reversion to that old style of late. <G>

What is little known and appreciated however, is that Mr. Brasington himself
outreached to the company on his own and succeeded in gaining a foothold there
by suggesting we create a web page for Naxos. His status with the company I
would describe as semi-official, an ombudsman of sorts. On this point you
are absolutely correct; he is trusted by both the company and this forum.

I remember the instant respect from almost everyone that he secured for himself
on this thread when he started posting using a writing skill I admire, and even
sometimes envy, to this day. Skill alone is not sufficient, however, and Mr.
Brasington's writing ability effectively communicated the man's profound integrity
to which we all responded. And still do.

It is self-organized contributions such as this that I am referring to in my
posting; which properly should be read as another outreach effort on behalf of
this forum.

All of us who post or contribute here can practice one of the premier rules
of written communication; compose with your audience in mind. Let us assume
that even if we do not have "official" representation on the search committee
we are limited in voicing our opinions not one bit. It's likely more than
one of those select members already lurk here. Maybe they all do. Let's keep
at least this special audience in mind as we post.

Welcome to all those lurkers who are beginning to post. It's always good
to meet others on board this sailing ship.

If an invitation to members of the search committee to join us here in open
forum would be helpful then I certainly do extend one of my own. It would
be an honor to contribute in any way.

Jerard P

sh:

My position is experimental with Naxos. There are not many official company rep's. on the Internet that I am aware of. The original idea was to be an adjunct to the telephone IR's so that this medium would be available to persons who did not want to call and to disseminate the Naxos story to a broader audience, since there is a finite limit to the number of calls that an IR person can take in a day - I believe the largest amount is 183 in one day (at least with Naxos).

This medium of communication is always subject to review. It can be challenging, fulfilling and frustrating on different occasions or all at once. I agree with Mr. Pearson that there is great inherent power within this communications mode.

Kim W.
