George,

I would like to add a footnote to your Ray Kroc story. I read an article in the mid 70's about how he got things started at McDonald's. It seems there wasn't enough money to pay a secretary so his worked the first year with no salary. She instead received ten per cent of the company. At the time of the article she was worth about $35M. Not bad, huh? I can just picture her sitting there, complaining about working for nothing. <g>

By the way, the reason Ray Kroc went out to see the McDonald brothers in San Bernardino was because they were buying more Multi Mixers than any of his other customers. He wanted to see what they were doing so he could sell more mixers to his other customers. Before selling Multi Mixers, Ray Kroc sold Dixie cups. It's nice to know a guy can strike it rich after fifty.

Steve T.

P.S. I'm going to be on edge tomorrow. I'll be in the air most of the time the market is open. I sure hope to see that a rally has continued when I get to Charlotte, NC.
