<Has Dell shunned the low-priced market?>

I think they have. CPQ appears to be the entry point for first time users. Customer work experience coupled with experimentation at home eventually takes the first time use to a perceived better quality more advanced machine, DELL. That's why I've mentioned in several previous post that CPQ needs to establish a path to the next natural upgrade. This involves a change of perception. Ground floor marketing which means taking the time to cuddle the first time customer as he grows into his next machine. Simple, a name and phone number, CPQ calls to say Hi. How is your XXX. We have a special today on YYY if your ready for the upgrade. There is absolutely no excuse to end up in a position where the channel is stuffed. They are paying more attention to numbers and not enough focus on the customer. Someone needs to get of their ass and start selling.
