If CPQ buy out RadioShake some time at the end of 1998, it will put all those retailers and IBM, HP, ...etc out of business in the consumer pc area. With Radio Shake being part of CPQ, there is no such high mark up which the retailers did , and which will make CPQ's PCs most competitive in price. To compete, those regular retailers will go back to IBM, HP ..etc
to ask for lowing their price of PCs, otherwise the retailers can not compete. If IBM, HWP agrees to further lower theirs price to the retailers, it will put IBM, HWP on a losing game. IF IBM, HWP do not agree to further reduce price, the retailers can not sell .
