Dear Lee:

No I am not wrong about this as I have it on 1st hand experience. My margin rates at both ETrade and Pacific/Dreyfus are 6.75% I trade at both places -of course my margin position is pushing $800,000. Pacific/Dreyfus is indeed the best for options and Datek would be the best for Equity but they have no options and they are 1/4% higher on margin which is a lot of trades at $800,000+. If they come up with options and I can get them down to 6.75% I might leave EGRP but by the time all that happens maybe EGRP will get their act together. On the investing front, it is a known fact that EGRP is making $ and these new guys are not. I will not leave a place on the basis of $15 per trade. If that kills the trade then I shouldn't be doing that one. I think if your into saving and getting the best trades you should look at Waterhouse where they have some kind of crossing deal set up. As time progresses SOES will probably become common place even for the likes of me.

Regards,
