Nicholas, I have found that it is the behavior of the apps more than their power or complexity that gives troubles. I have some monster Fortran apps that share a Winframe server very nicely. But Excel spreadsheets hog the server and greatly slow down other apps, as can Access and PowerPoint. Must be that they are grabbing resources at a lower level that defies fair time sharing.

Somethings can be kept on a central server and some others belong on the desktop. MS office products belong on the desktop.
