Cellme:

I just can't believe the statements you made. Do you really think that the companies investing billions in G* have no plan? Does the fact that all are service providers all over the world make any difference? Is Airtouch just blindly entering into this? Or, do they have huge amounts of business worldwide(http://www.airtouch.com/airtouch/international/index.html)?
Have you attended the regional service provider meetings? Were you one of the 50 service providers who asttended the sales conference in Cancun in late 97? Do you know which service providers have signed roaming agreements? Handset manufacturers? You have a choice of 3--Qualcomm, Ericsson, and Telital. Iridium-Motorola or Kyocera. Your comment about who would want to manufacture 300,000 handsets is ridiculous--who wouldn't? The total sub count will be so much higher than that in later years that a manufacturer would be ignorant not to take the business. Iridium's total handset sales by design will never be a big number--who would want to manufacture them?
As you can see, there is so much more to G* than what you have glossed over. We discuss facts here(most of the time)--show me where you have found no G* plan. As it stands now, it is still "one phone, one bill."
