Hey guys,
if you want to figure out how much revenue it takes to break even, its simple.

If the gross margin is 30%, and you assume that
SGA = $110mm, and r&D is $25mm,
then take the sum, $135mm
and divide by your gross margin

you get $450mm revenues needed to break even.

So, unless you project that the current run rate of sales of $360mm will increase 25% in next 2 weeks (um...its more than 25%, 2 weeks of 12 weeks is 1/6, so 25%/1/6 = 150%...) unless you think that sales will increase 150% in next 2 weeks, then break even is very unlikely.

Your only hope is to buy iomega products.

like crazy.

STOP ALL THIS VICIOUS BANTER NOW. THIS THREAD HAS BECOME LIKE A WAR ZONE.

My suggestions:

1. All discussion of stocks other than Iomega should be taken elsewhere

2. All geniuses that say "I told you so" should leave now. If you were short at $16, congratulations (but none of you were)

3. All of you that are still long this stock, stop watching it for 6 months. It won't make you any happier in the meantime.

'nuff said

Richard -

Get a grip.

Mr. Hepensteil said, I believe, what the press release said, namely that revenues for Q1 1998 will be relatively flat from Q1 1997.

But EARNINGS will be negative.

Not knowing the difference is certainly excusable, but being a jerk about it isn't.

I simply stated what was told to me by IOM Investor Relations. Call them if you want. I am not trying to influence anybody. A few people posted there confusion over the release with regards to revenues; whether they were comparing to 4Q97 or 1Q97. All I did was clarify that question. If you are hung up on the word even I appologize, I believe they said relatively flat.
