IBD has an article about ATI. Possible acquirer Bell Atlantic. I am afraid
the great growth story that this stock represents will be severely compromised
by a merger. It may be inevitable and, in fact, it's possible that without a merger the
company may suffer in the US. I wish they would sell the domestic part to BA and spin-off
international into a separate company with BA a majority stockholder. I would like that.
Then, half of my investment would be in a strong domestic all-purpose phone, wireless, video blah,
blah, blah company. The other half could grow at rates approaching a 100% and not have
that growth diluted by being part of a huge US phone company. Then, if you want real growth you sell
the BA-ATI part and put the proceeds into the the INT company.
