DJ,

That doesn't sound like much of a downgrade...fine tuned lower eps...you have to start doing better to help these bears with the downgrades.<vbg>

They are expecting 22 very very soon.

When will they learn.....:-)

Somewhere over the rainbow skys are blue................

>>CAUTIOUS NEAR TERM OUTLOOK.deceleration in chip unit volumes under way since last July should stabilize soon.

These are certainly positive factors, but the big drivers for the industry in 1998 (low priced PCs, DVD, digital broadcasting, digital cable) will not emerge in force until late this year. With regard to the DRAM market specifically, the cutbacks in world chip capital spending will not likely have a real impact on supply until late 1998 or early 1999.

We continue to expect a very dramatic upturn in MU's EPS as pricing firms, but the timing of that upturn still seems 6-12 months away.

its long term favorable position among the world's lowest cost DRAM makers.<<

How long have we been hearing this same bull $*&t as the red ink gets deeper and deeper .What a crock, they chant the same absurd mantra over and over again regardless of todays reality and the fact that they have no way of telling what will really happen 6-12 months from now. They have been completely off in their short term predictions what makes them so confident in what will happen 6-12 months from now. The future could just as well hold bankruptcy for POS as breakeven or maybe making aliitle bit of $. WAKE UP A$$H#!@S ALMOST $1 REAL OPS LOSS, NEXT QTR. PROBABLE WORSE STOP TRYING TO SELL THE SNAKE(CHIP) OIL, EVEN THE GULLIBULLS WILL START SMARTENING UP. RR

Richard,

Even his "revised" estimate of operating losses. -.27, was still way off the reported -.41. He's just guessing. Wait for the analysts to come out of their meeting, pump the stock for a day or two to force the 50- and 200-DMA's to cross while they're dumping everything they've got, and plan that Carribean cruise for April 2.
