<<<However, in liberal Democratic circles NOW, Patricia Ireland and the feminist movement in general, and feminist columnists as well, are all very important in terms of supporting the president, and the fact that NOW has come out with such a strong stance is quite striking, I believe. >>>

And this is what I am focusing on. Why should Patricia Ireland be given a leg up over say the Eagle Forum? I mean the press bellows about how objective they are and yet not one conservative woman's group has been represented. I realize that the argument is that we already know what their take on it is but I would be more interested in seeing what another woman's movement has to say rather than whether or not Clinton's feminist base is eroding. I think that you should also listen carefully to what Patricia Ireland is saying. I notice that she limits her talk to various "IF" statements none of which include what her organization is prepared to do as a result of all this. Remember this is the organization that made the sounding threat that they were going to "Bork Clarence Thomas" (that's Bork not boink). With only so much as the testimony of one woman, NOW was willing to destroy a man's career and yet they sit idly by and do little more than define what the President's supposed actions could be classified as even though there are now two woman that have stepped forward and made the claim that the President has made improper advances. That I call the height of hypocrisy or rather should I say depth.
