Jody, that's a frightening story. I hope it works out okay for you. I've never used them. There is also competition from EBay and others. So by no means is ONSL the only game in town. By the way, I'm short ONSL since 33 3/4. I think it had formed a double top and I would expect it to pull back some more. I'm hoping to cover below 30 (almost had it today!).

Mr. Ritchie and others:

I want to assure you that ONSALE has been actively investigating this situation. I have personally spoken with Mr. Ritchie's wife to convey that at *no time* was any credit card information ever transmitted to this vendor.

ONSALE's security personnel are working to fully understand how Mr. Ritchie was contacted.

Mr. Ritchie- I will update you once we have further information.

Sincerely,

Byron Bailey

Another fly in ointment using Onsale...

I doubt they inspect (random sample or otherwise) their merchandise, just take the manufacurer's word for it. I've bought two items from ONSL and both were defective. An HP PC with a bad floppy drive, and a fax machine that could not send a fax or make a copy (bad scanner). These are obvious defects, and have convinced me not to buy anything else from them. IMO this whole refurb market is going to slow down and they'll have to do more with new merchandise.
