A general comment for all here about expectations for Seybold (and other) announcements. (I was dying to post this earlier, but didn't sign up for an account before now.)

If you think about it, a lot of the expected announcements would have been grossly inappropriate for the venue. Seybold is *not* MacWorld. Jobs had to speak to the main audience, which is publishers. That means ColorSync, AppleScript, Apple box speeds running Photoshop, and the connections he made to QuickTime and WebObjects. (BTW, notice how Apple is attempting to reshape the way people define "publishing" around their products.) Talking about, for example, a new CEO would have been inappropriate.

Keep that in mind for NAB next week. Expect QuickTime and FireWire hype, along with more fast box demos. While a Columbus announcement is highly unlikely, look for announcements around hardware and software technologies that would fit with the creation of this elusive beastie. Don't expect a CEO announcement or discussion of any topics that won't be of direct interest to broadcasters.

--For a demo, "let's do a bake-off," he gleefully cackled--

I love it. ( macnn.com )

I love the Manta too--$1000 is my price point to buy one. The reason I want it is primarily the better picture and almost non-existant radiation. Better for the eyes and body, especially for those of us online 4-12 hours a day.

Reports I'm getting are that the weekend CompUSA fest went pretty well at most locations around the country.

Happy investing,
Marc

PS--I'd love to see our short interest build back up a bit. Let's keep a wall of worry going here so that we can climb it.
