from the yahoo boards on Level 2:

Did you ever wonder why a stock like this doesn't go up 2-3 points on such good news ? Let me point out a few reasons:

1. The larger brokerage houses won't "upgrade" a stock till they own sufficient shares to sell to their clients. That's how they make the big money.
2. In order to get the shares they want cheap they will short the stock while buying calls to cover upside.
3. Once the nervous sellers are out of the way and the brokerage has hit the "target" price they begin to cover, the next day (or so) the "upgrade" is issued and voila they are heroes to all their clients.
So I advise you do not be swayed by the tricksters this is a good company that is in a lull 20-30 is a very realistic target for the next 30-60 days. Daytraders again will lament their 1/2 or 1 point when the stock goes up 10-15

I reviewing my research I again like the prospects for VVUS here's why:
1. 6 analysts follow the stock and all have a "hold" rating
that means that there is certainly room for upgrades (hopefully after earnings release)
2. Earnings estimates are about $1 for 1998 and $1.31 for '99
3. The product works and is gaining greater acceptance worldwide
4. the chart has triple bottomed the weak hands are out.
5. If you follow the Level 2 you can see that the 2 most notorious manipulators of the NASDAQ, ISLD and INCA are working to accumulate this one these guys are sly and seldom let their true intentions be known. But looking at the facts you have to believe that VVUS has turned the corner and it's up from here

<<I've said it before, the two people on this thread who want Viagra approval as soon as possible are BigKNY3 and myself. I do not see any delay in Viagra approval as positive for VVUS.>>

Zebra 365,

I agree, any short term delay (6 months or less) of Viagara approval would not be positive for Vivus. However, a delay of 1 to 2 years would do wonders. For one thing, it would allow Vivus to develop a larger customer base and it's advertising campaign won't be overshadowed by all the free media hype concerning Viagara.
