Since TXN just sold off Acer, they're now out of DRAMs so I don't see this affecting them at all.

The stock closed at the high, which is usually bullish.

Just my take.

Van, while Kurlak did repeat his thumbs down on MU and PC growth, while reporting on that research comment, CNBC's Alan Chernoff reported in the a.m. that he had somewhat positive comments on TXN and was sort of making a distinction between those chip makers w/ most of their product portfolios tied to PC's v. those w/ more networking/communications-related end markets.

I don't have access to that report, but if someone does maybe they could fill in the blanks re: what the guy actually said about TXN.

In the past I've tended to usually enter in the opposite direction of a TK call, but the notion that Kurlak could be possibly be warming up to TXN sounded "important" in the context of his bearishness on the sector since last fall and given what could possibly be some pent-up demand from clients who have been waiting for a green-light (or even a yellow-light at this point).

Maybe it kicks off a run. Then again, it very well could be a run limited to one day. I entered long in the a.m., so I rather hope not, but we'll see.

Good trading,

Tom
