Rethere are a group of very macho posters that includes yourself that apparently believes that the semi equips are undervalued at these prices

macho?? I don't think so, but that is a matter of opinion.

Undervalued?? Looking at what eps will be 1-2 years from now, unquestionably. Many people missed the last runup saying AMAT was overvalued at (post-split) 25. From there we only proceeded to double. I am simply making the point that incremental gains to be had a couple of notches below where we are may not be a prudent strategy to take. After awhile an extremely weak Relative Strength begets a stock/sector which MM's pounce on as having value. We are not too far away from that point IMO. If you call this line of reasoning macho, that is your prerogative.

Re:... if these stocks are as undervalued as u think why are co's not purchasing at these levels...

I cannot answer this except to say we have seen a consolidation in the industry. NVLS/Varian, Lam/Ontrak and a number of others. Where have you been?? At this point in time, I believe that each company has 300mm projects in gear so any cost savings may not be achieved by combining two entities and the cost savings of joining the two might be obviated. This is pure conjecture on my part.
