I2: Re:"I think he forecasted several buying opportunities in the past. I believe you are
correct, however, when you say that he has not typically gone out so far in his
forecast (i.e., "calander year 1998")."

Yes, I agree he has correctly identified many buying opportunities after they have occurred and has forecasted excellent entry points should a short term pullback occur which he has said can occur at anytime. He has not, to my recollection, ever attempted to predict an actual time frame for an upcoming buying opportunity. Sure he has stated when he has felt the market was vulnerable. But that is quite a different thing from forecasting a specific time frame for a correction. I wonder if this is going on currently given his comments of the past two weekends. Time will tell.

Re"Is that what he says? I thought the number was lower (a 4% to 7% drop can
happen at any time???)"

I know that Brinker has stated that a correction of less than 10% can occur at anytime. But now that you mention it, he has also said sometimes that a correction of 3%, 4% - 7% is possible but I interpret this to mean that he is limiting the downside at certain points in time under the general umbrella of a 10% correction. But he is now limiting downside to only 4% after this huge rally which will be followed by another rally to record highs. He has given himself little room for error (4%) off a record level and I view this as something new and gutsy.

Re UTEK: Lowest daily volume since September, 1997. Maybe it is a vast short conspiracy not to buy to cover in order to drive the price lower by trying the patience of the longs <VBG>? Or maybe it is a renewed conviction by the shorts that she is going lower in the face of the stubborn longs who will not part with their shares but are not willing to buy more unless she does go lower. Maybe something else? You make the call ;).
