It's clear the "incrowd" was tipped off way before most shareholders.

I believe I'll extract myself from this dog at the first possible moment. It smells like cr*p, regardless of future prospects and all DCF models aside. When management behaves this way it makes me want to puke. CSCO FAN is right about one thing, an acquirer will pick up BAY for a song not too many months from today, but I won't stick around to find out.

Dear Hop and Sam - Hop, actually, I think BAY should take Sam's criticism at face values and see if she can improve her sale force. I don't mean - and don't know - if her sale force is really deficient; rather, it is a great benefit to use other people's criticism constructively. As a BAY convert, I certainly hope the BAY employees active in this thread to report Sam's impression to BAY mgt.

Sam - 1st, I actually like constructive criticism, subjective that it may be [face it, while there is no reason to doubt your words, your encounter with BAY sale force is limited to your circle,] so thank you More important, from your original post, you seem to suggest that CSCO's products are inferior to its sale pitch. However, depending on BAY's philosophy, "poking holes" can be interpreted differently. One may take it as a constructive comparison or one may view it as a badmouthing of opponents. Since the purchasers of the networking gears should be doing their homework - I should emphasize the idealized verb to be 'should be' - maybe BAY has taken too much for granted. I mean, there are a lot of benchmarks done by independent agencies, like DataCom and Trolley Grp etc.

Cisco Fan - sorry you lost 20 G's - but you are clearly bitter, as anyone who has lost 20Gs would be. I can't vouch for the sales practices of every single Bay rep, and neither can you. Just because you have been exposed to a certain sales tactic doesn't mean that it is on page one of the Bay sales manual. Remember, Cisco has their own bunch of sales slugs that rely on market share and stock hype versus actual quality and investment protection, etc.

Cisco Fan - I agree w/ Hop Sing - I've been with a BAY integrator for five years and what you describe as BAY salespeople pushing price as opposed to the solution is a definite fallacy - the exact opposite is the actual truth - it's the CSCO folk who are your prototype used-car salesman types.

Look through BAY's marketing strategy of adaptive networking/where information flows - that's a strategy pitching solution - not necessarily price. Also, you'll find that Chambers will repeatedly copy statements from House's speeches/press releases.

I'm looking for opportunities in what will inevitably be a fire sale in the morning. Good luck to all.
