Duanne: NE Ventures sells 83,000 APAT-they did their "due diligence", they know the story and they're outa that bag. Stock has broken resistance & is cascading down-bollinger bands in reverse. Load up!

Hi, Jim, Sure.. we can as Mike Doyle (Hello --MIKE!) to give us the link to the discussion he mentioned. I notice that CIEN is coming back nicely after suffering quite a hit when CGW/LU announced their new optics... A more reasoned view is that CIEN has in their R&D labs the equivalent technology and will be ready to deploy it when appropriate.
The question for us is where APAT's offering is positioned in the current market...and the followon question, do they have any further niches that they are targeting in the fast changing WDM market?
//OT// I finally played "Treasure Hills" down here, Jim.. Formerly it was semi-private, with a substantial membership fee. But they apparently haven't been able to make a go of it on that basis, and the course may change hands..I hope so...the basic layout, etc seem very nice.. I messed up the final hole yesterday with a triple (!) to finish with an 82..with which I was quite pleased, as it was not an easy go.. Now if the weather will get back to WARM...so you can
Hit em straight

Jim, Pardon...Just noticed that I read your question too fast and misunderstood.. A better thought: you might find someone knowledgeable over there and ask for an opinion of the APAT WDM info..that would offer an opportunity to put the link on those threads.. I'm not sure anyone is going to answer the REAL questions, howver... which is: As the CIEN and LU level of players battle for the WDM market, will APAT be able to generate a sufficiently significant role to provide the payoff we would like.. Someone at APAT might have an opinion for us, however. And they appear to be answering the question by coming out with product..
BTW..Here is an example of the comments about what CIEN has coming from their labs....but only hinting about that might be.

Jim, In case some missed it, here is that posting about the good reception APAT's WDM products received at the recent show. biz.yahoo.com
Of most interest to me was this paragraph:

Dr. Jain explained that APA Optics DWDM technology, patent pending, is particularly suited to expanded channel capacity.
''Our dense WDM technology, which utilizes a grating approach, lends itself to a high number of channels, well beyond 16, as
compared to competing filter-based technologies, which have a difficult time increasing channels,'' Jain said. The demonstration
units previewed at the show had four or eight channels, which mirror the bulk of market demand. APA Optics offers a 16
channel model as a custom order and will work with customers on multiplexers with even higher channel capacities.

Once customers have a chance to get some of the DWDM product into an installation where it can be proved out, it seems to me there would be every prospect of good sales... I remain optimistic.. DLO
