PalmPilot reward for success: Competition from Microsoft

"We have the advantages of being the innovator, of owning the technology and understanding the market better than anybody else. We've been aggressively building over the last two years," Dubinsky says.

Maybe so, but I haven't seen much progress in the Pilot over the past year. The Pilot III doesn't really do much thats new other than the infrared thing, which is hardly an item in huge demand.

I think they Pilot needs to LOOK nicer, it looks like a grey nerd-box designed by engineers.

God bless,
PX

PX, a few days ago IBD quoted a survey of non-PC households (about
55% of ALL households). About 1/3 of them said they were not
interested in getting a PC at any price. That's about 18% of ALL
households, leaving us with 37% of ALL households to sell PCs to.
Plus the masses in underdeveloped countries who have not yet
experienced the blessings of technology. Quite an untapped market.

Maybe software could make it possible to use a PC at two or three
selectable levels, from level one for people who cannot program their
alarm clock to level three. The latter is for masochists who enjoy
making their own soap.

What happened to "BOB"? <VbG>
