If IBM is trying to take over, they're keeping it quiet, which
is the right way to go about it.

Does it strike you as curious that IBM seems to be partnering with just about every competitor Intel has? They made chips for Cyrix, they're in bed with AMD, and now IDT's Winchip! Who's next, Motorola?

Just got here. IBM has a very successful(techincally) and long standing partnership with Motorola(and Apple). The AIM partnership, or PowerPC(PPC) Alliance its called. Started in early 90s. The PPC chip is in fact far superior to Pentium in almost every way but it doesn't run Windoze so what can you do. Just now beginning to focus on embedded applications in case Apple doesn't pull out of it.
