INTC mentioned at SH meeting...

<<Also, heard rumors that INTC bought TAVA's CD, can this be confirmed?>>

Jenkins mentioned at the SH meeting that TAVA had met with INTC officials in Phoenix, and INTC walked away with a purchased copy(ies).
This is a matter of record.

The speculation surrounded why INTC would need the thing. Some specualted that INTC's firmware process controls in their fab plants were not date compliant. I would doubt this.

My own theory is that INTC sees a sea change in computing, with embedded controllers rising in importance. Java works well in this environment, Windows naturally does not, and INTC has made a strong comittment to Java. INTC has never been in the embedded chip market. My theory is that INTC wants an embedded chiip database to see what is out there, and whether they can say "Me too!"

Anyway, the absence of any news on this front, the failure to mention INTC on the list of customers undergoing assessments leads me to believe INTC does not need an inspection. This could of course still be proven wrong. There is however no proof of my theory to date. We shall see.
