I'm a QNTM agnostic and ready to convert. I can't get a handle on
how much negative news this stock has discounted and if its fall
is sector or company-related. If its mostly sector related, then
the stock is still exposed to negative earnings news (considering
four of the last five quarters have been good.) In any event, one
month to decide unless if QNTM preannounces.

Until then here is some historical data on what percentage of
revenue DLTs account for at QNTM. These are the drives that
Herb raised concerns about in his column today.

FY 97 Q3: 16%
FY 97 Q4: 15%

FY 98 Q1: 18%
FY 98 Q2: 22%
FY 98 Q3: 22%

source: QNTM

Herb's estimate for the current quarter is about 25%.

Shorting at or near the lows, is always fraught with risk.
It's the shorting on the highs with the upgrades from the "talking heads"
that make money...
