This mornings number is another huge increase. Exports dropping, imports rising. Especially bad number in the face of collapsing oil prices.

The booming stock market here is, of course, mostly explained by the dollars being created by Greenspan finding their way into paper assets. Not a healthy situation.

I'm still trying to figure out why he decided to no longer attempt to control speculation, overheating, and excess monetary expansion with the tools available to him.

He and those before him have always slowed money growth cyclically. Even when it hurt the economy. His pumping shows no signs of slowing, and is in fact speeding up.

Has the Republican who cost Ford and Bush their Presidencies become so smart that he knows something that his predecessors did not?
