Jane, I know about them because I am a student of military history. Their main monastary was, I believe, located in Marienburg on the Vistula (which is in modern Poland). Their crusade was carried out against ancient Prussia, Livonia and other slavic peoples. They did however start out in Jerusalem as part of the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem but when Jerusalem fell they moved to the Baltic region. By the way they are still around and maintain a presence in Austria. Henry PS You still didn't answer my question.
