< Certainly *someone* is selling a whole bunch of 0.25 and 0.18 micron tools>

I thought both Nikon and Cannon were having problems producing "production" tools (late last years pre-earnings announcement) and ASMLF had just shipped its first production tool @ those linewidths. Am I "Rip Van Winkle" or what?

Canon says to sell new high-end stepper from April

TOKYO, March 23 (Reuters) - Canon Inc (Nasdaq:CANNY - news; 7751.T) said on Monday it would launch a new stepper for making dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips of 64 megabits and higher.

The new stepper, which is able to print features smaller than 0.35 microns, has a wafer-production capacity of about 30 percent higher than existing models, Canon said in a statement.

The new chip-making equipment can produce more than 100 eight-inch wafers per hour, it said.

The company will retail the stepper for about 470 million yen per unit and expects first-year sales to reach 150 units, it said.
