For a lower price, yes.

But Intel's customers shipped 233 MHz Pentium notebooks in September of last year.

And Intel made money on each CPU.

Just because you only learned yesterday of Intel's Tillamook doesn't mean it didn't exist before yesterday.

Of course, Intel is not very experienced, such as AMD, in selling CPUs below cost.
