I would like to second that opinion.... how can one see the upside, if one cannot recognize the down. surely the point is to be flexible enough to read, listen, understand and then fit the information into your own frame of reference, context, isn't that how all of us learn. I was a big bull... last summer, at 100, given what was going on in the world, i didn't feel like charging anymore. it didn't seem prudent. should i lie to myself to support the amat team blindly, or be true to myself and sell (as the insiders did) and buy back when I feel a run comming on. and having made my decision, why would it be wrong to tell those you had previously informed of your bull views, that the macro situation had changed your mind... I guess I don't get it.... I really don't understand why there is this tension... what in god's name's going to happen when we change around again and go long on the stock... are we going to be tolerated or berated all over again. isn't the market just the sum total of all our views.

BB,

Good thoughts. I need to become more flexible when it comes to investing. In other parts of my life, I have no problem going with the flow. Heck, I'm thinking of converting from agnosticism to Buddhism, or maybe nihilism... See, I'm very malleable. <G>
