Well, Henry that rather explains your obvious emotional involvement in my views of Germans. I have very set views on everything. All based on experience and reality. Some things I love very very much and overlook all faults because there is so much good to compensate. Other things there simply isn't, and I call it as I personally see it. Being in Germany during the war is something I cannot comprehend. I saw "Slaughthouse FIve" what, 50 times? I never tire of it. I'm curious what you think of that movie. I consider it a classic gem of a movie without equal. I personally know a woman who was in Hitler Youth--Sabina. She is very, very beautiful, but now older than I can imagine, so of course no where near as pretty, but they say she still looks wonderful. When she was young and gorgeous, she married well several times. Then, tiring of that, she became a legendary hippy in the 60's-70's in Mendocino, which is more like a fairytale place someone made up than a real place on Earth. Then she became a truly saint-like woman of incredible spiritual beauty during the real Jesus Freak Movement that lasted almost 10 years. A few years back she took the rest of her money back to Germany where she has a personal ministry to homeless people and especially pregnant girls. Last year she visited her old property in California--now a premiere Chrisitan retreat too beautiful to imagine--but had to just say hi and rush back to Germany because a TV station was doing a documentary on her life. They were telling her she was the Mother Teresa of Germany, but she felt it was too good an opportunity to give her testimony and give Praise to Jesus to turn down. That's the last I heard about her. Now, Sabina is a piece of work. And as German as German gets. And started out in Hitler Youth. And now magnificently serves the Living God, and is totally and completely absorbed in her One Love, Jesus.
